Finding the right cookbook can be overwhelming. They can quickly add up in cost and sometimes, aren't even worth it if you can't find anything you would actually eat or if they're full of unusual ingredients that are hard to get hold of!
I'm going to share my favourite cookbooks which I recommend to clients all the time and that I use, personally! I am not associated with any of the publishers or authors so nothing is "advertised" or sponsored, however, the links provided are affiliate links.

What I love about Dr Megan Rossi is she is all about gut health, she's known as The Gut Doctor! That and she is all about including foods, not excluding them.
This can be used by vegans and veggies but be prepared to add some substitutions as the book explores the term 'flexitarian' and does include animal produce but advocates a plant-based way of living.
This book has been on my Wishlist for a looong time and boy, it was worth the wait. Megan is a fountain of knowledge and her book contains easy food portion references and explains how food interacts with the body and ways to improve your health.
You may have seen Bio&Me products on your supermarket shelves? Dr Megan Rossi is the creator... and I really recommend the yoghurts if you can tolerate dairy!

This cute little book is no longer looking pristine on my shelf! I use it all the time and although Niki has paired some of the dishes amazingly, I often mix it up a bit and do different combinations.
I love the layout of this book. So simple yet so beautiful and recipes are simple yet divine!!
All the recipes are plant-based so perfect for vegetarians and vegans! The herby potatoes are my absolute fav!

Some unusual ingredients if you're new to the world of clean eating or paleo but my goodness, they're the best homemade desserts I've come across. It has all sorts from cookies, pies, crumbles, cake and even bread, all grain-free so they're suitable for those who are celiac or gluten-intolerant.
The Paleo diet excludes grains, beans and legumes, gluten, dairy, trans-fats, artificial sweeteners, refined sugars, alcohol and most pre-packaged foods. Unfortunately it's not vegan-friendly, so unless you're a pro at substituting things like eggs, ghee and honey it might be a no go for those leading a completely animal produce-free lifestyle.
Michele is American so the instructions are in cups, but I actually prefer this and you'll come across ingredients such as tapioca flour and arrowroot which, once bought, will become a staple in the kitchen cupboard.
I don't know how but I've managed to keep this book looking as though it has never been used! I've been so careful when using it because it's such beautiful quality.

Going Autoimmune Paleo can be daunting! It can feel as though you are completely restricted with nothing to eat. This recipe book is what I recommend to everyone beginning their AIP journey - I even recommend the majority of recipes to those who aren't because the recipes are completely clean and suitable for vegans!
AIP is an intense version of the Paleo diet. Along with the removal of grains, beans and legumes, gluten, dairy, trans-fats, artificial sweeteners, refined sugars, alcohol and most pre-packaged foods, AIP requires complete elimination of nightshades, eggs, nuts and seeds and seed oils. Those who follow this approach should be aware that this is just a temporary protocol and foods such be reintroduced carefully after an appropriate amount of time. This book explains what you can eat, should avoid and how to eliminate and reintroduce foods safely.

I have had this book for about 7 or 8 years now! It is literally my go-to recipe book. Although I enjoy cooking, it's not my favourite thing - I dislike spending a long time to make my food if it only takes me 5 minutes to eat it. This book uses simple ingredients, nothing fancy or out there which is right up my street.
It is based on the principles of the Paleolithic diet. To put that simply, how the cavemen ate... but up-to-date.
With simple but delicious recipes, everything in this book is 'clean' and was my introduction into the world of healthy eating. What I love about this book is that it simplifies and explains the paleo diet and how our bodies use food as fuel. With easy protein-filled breakfast recipes, tasty lunch time meals, healthy snacks, dinners and fun desserts. I recommend this book to everyone... who isn't vegan or vegetarian.
As explained in the book, the diet excludes foods which are considered harmful to the body or hard for the body to digest and metabolise leading to the possibility of illness or unwanted symptoms. Due to the exclusion of beans and legumes, a big staple in the vegan/veggie diet, this book would not beneficial anyone who adopts that lifestyle as pretty much all meals incorporate meat and eggs.
They also have a second book which I use just as much as this which has some equally, if not better recipes and ideas called The Paleo Primer: A Second Helping: Fitter, Happier, Healthier
Keris studied at the same college as me, The College of Naturopathic Medicine, although not at the same time. It wasn't until researching where to study (about 3 years after purchasing and using this book like the bible along with being an avid listener of her and Matt's podcast Fitter Food Radio) that I put 2 and 2 together! It's what sold me on the course as the knowledge that Keris has is just mindblowing!
